B A N D    M E M B E R S

All accomplished performers in their own right

CHAPTER 2 members sought to elevate their musical artistry

by banding together and exploring the synergies

of combining their wide ranging musical influences

into one unique sound.

Cutuy Herrero - Vox

Cutuy is no newcomer to the entertainment world.  She is the daughter of film and stage actor/comedian Subas Herrero of "Champoy" fame.  She made her NY debut in 1997 in Noel Gamboa's production of Manila Nights.  Since then, she has been showcasing her talent by performing as lead female vocalist in various bands throughout the New York and New Jersey area.

Grace Hernandez - Vox

Don't let Grace's petite frame fool you - her vocal range packs a lot of wallop.  Honing her vocal talents in various lounge acts around NYC, Grace's sultry and jazzy voice brings a different dimension to Chapter 2's trademark harmonies, and further expands the range of what Chapter 2 can do musically.  We are truly excited at Chapter 2's future prospects with her addition.

Dennis Sy- Vox/Songwriter

Dennis was a member of the NY singing group ALIBATA before embarking on various solo performances. He had 2 solo concerts in NY, front-acted for Banig at her City Center concert, a guest performer at Kuh Ledesma's Atlantic City show, and has performed with Dawn Dineros and Jennifer Cuneta at a Valentines show. He recorded and released a CD entitled COLOURS in 1998.

His original song "REAL ME" was nominated for SONG OF THE YEAR (Triple A Category) at the 2006 LA MUSIC AWARDS.

Noel Tampac - Musical Director/Guitarist

Chapter 2's resident comedian is also the heart and soul behind its well-recognized pop/acoustic harmonies.  Noel got his musical chops from his training at the Asian Institute for Liturgy & Music.  He has conducted various church choirs and was a member of the Christian choral group "HIS SOUNDS" where he met his lovely wife.  He conducted the winning group at the first Filipino-American Choral Competition held at Lincoln Center in NY during the 90's, and also performed with a band called the "Sound Foundation".  In the realm of pop/acoustic/rock music, his training has provided "structure" that has defined and enhanced Chapter 2's sound.

Wenchie Olitan - Drummer

Wenchie started in the music biz at a very early age.  He can play multiple instruments but decided to stick with the drums and percussions.  He went to the Yamaha School Of Music in the late 80's, then studied with Pat Petrillo (Patti Labelle's drummer) and Mike Smith (Progressive Jazz Instructor) in the 90's.  He's been involved with recording music for R.L. Stein's "Goose Bumps", and has been playing in an all-original band doing the NY, NJ and Philly circuits for ten years.  Wenchie plays with various party bands and is currently the mainstay drummer for Chapter 2.

Carlo Tampac - Guitarist/Bass

“Cool and suave” epitomizes both Carlo’s guitar playing and stage presence. Starting off as an acoustic singer/songwriter early in his career, he has further honed his craft and expanded his musical horizons by sharing his youthful exuberance and amazing guitar licks to Chapter 2’s pop/acoustic fusion sound.

Sheldon Magbanua - Guitarist/Bass

Sheldon’s prowess with the guitar has allowed him to play both bass and lead guitars for various professional bands, and brought him various gigging opportunities around Asia (Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines), and now to the Big Apple with Chapter 2. Amazing riffs are but the norm for this young talented musician.

Ken Villafranca - Keyboards

Ken was born in Gumaca, Quezon Province, but raised in NY, and studied at the Brooklyn College Music Conservatory.  He has composed jingles for a NYC music company; and wrote, produced, and engineered songs for local talents in his home recording studio.  He was a pit musician (keyboards and bass) for various Mayi Theater stage productions.  He served as keyboardist for concerts by Christy Mendoza, Gloria Papin, Jan Paraiso, Ellen San Miguel, and many others.  He is also the musical director for another NYC band, aside from being Chapter 2's "keyboardist-at-large".

Marla Garcia-Villacorte- Keyboards

Marla started training in classical piano at age 6 and was a 2-time winner in the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (Piano) in the Philippines. She dabbled into acting and singing when she joined PETA-MTTL as well as a church choir when she was in her teens. She then became a member of the Likhanghimig chorale and became the head of the Music Ministry of PREX, another local church choir. Later on, she did a few back-up vocal stints including a Valentine concert with Ariel Rivera. Currently, Marla is back at the keyboards with Chapter 2.
